Getting To Know Dr. Huntoon            

All too often it’s the practitioner who gets all the information about the patient, while the patient gets little information about the practitioner and his practice. I would like to change all that. 

My name is Dr. Richard A. Huntoon,and I was born in 1965 on Cape Cod, Hyannis, Massachusettes while my parents were on vacation.  After receiving my Bachelors of Science form Ohio University in 1987, I went on to receive a second Bachelors of Science in Human Anatomy before receiving my Doctorate in Chiropractic form National College of Chiropractic in 1991.  NCC, located in Lombard, Illinois, is known as the leader in chiropractic education.

Family is very important to me.  I was born the second son of four boys, and although I don't currently have a family of my own, I am the Godfather to two of my nieces and nephews.  Children are important and I enjoy teaching and spending time with all kids.  I also enjoy animals and love dogs and cats.  My joys in life include road and mountainbiking, hiking, scuba and skydiving and traveling, and my newest hobbie is racing cars through autocross events.

I was originally inspired to become a healing practitioner after a debilitating back injury prevented me from being able to stand when I was only 21 years old.  This was fully healed by an alternative practitioner who specialized in Applied Kinesiology and Nutrition.  I was so elated by the effect he created, without the use of medication, that I chose to follow in his footsteps.

I've since chosen to devote my life to the healing arts because I feel with all my heart that the power to heal the body resides in all of us, waiting to be released.  I am grateful I did so because nothing in the world gives me the same wonderful feeling I receive when a Practice Member tells me how grateful they are that I have empowered them to feel better and live their life more fully. 

I have seen miraculous results for people suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, digestive problems, chronic headaches, and other serious health issues.  I've worked with all types of patients, from the newborn to the elderly well into their 90's, utilizing safe and effective natural treatments.

I believe with all my heart in the principles of alternative healing which can be stated as, "The power that made the body can heal the body, if allowed to be released through natural means."  I am very passionate about how I practice and always strive to improve upon it.  I continually attend alternative and natural healing seminars throughout the world, staying on the leading edge of the current breakthroughs in the healthcare field.

It is my mission to give great, affordable, quality care, so that we can work together in a partnership to address all your health concerns and improve your life.  I want to help people.  I ask that you refer and continue to refer your family and friends to the office, because as you yourself improve with care, you will want to share these results with those who are important in your life.

Optimim health is the right each of us has, yet very few have the understanding of what's needed to take advantage of it.  It is important for the health of our families and communityto make sure we all work together.  I established Advanced ALternative Medicine Center in our community because I saw the desparate need for an alternative to the endless supply of medicines being prescribed that are contributing to our country's current health issues.

The whole purpose of our Centeris to support as many people as possible in their quest for health and to educate them, so they in turn, can educate others.  By providing alternative health care choices, it enables practice members to have a say in the types of health they exhibit.

What seems to make my practice unique is our whole body approach through the combination of different techniques used to address all the different aspects of a persons well being.  My commitment to you is to find the most natural healing methods necessary to re-establish and maintain your total health.
