In this video, Dr. Huntoon discusses what you need to consider if you are asked to have a surgical procedure.

Since no one can predict an outcome to surgery, you better make sure to ask all of your questions before signing the consent form that absolves the doctor and the hospital from any consequences of a failed outcome.

Consider our list of questions:

The Alternative Perspective and The Medical Perspective

YOU must be the one who watches over yourself. Because nobody else is going to do that for you.

Many doctors just throw things at the wall, and see what sticks.

Appreciate that we as a country represent 4.5 % of the world's population and yet we consume greater than 91 % of the world's medication.

Are we over medicated?

I think the answer is obvious.

Is the problem getting better?

I think you know the answer based on the number of television commercials for medications that we see.

My approach is the old-fashioned "If-there-is-smoke-there-is-a-fire" reasoning. Some doctors disdain anecdotal evidence as not valid. I believe that it is the very best evidence we have, if the sample size is large enough, and the population is diverse.

Medicines Two Choices for You

Your Solution

If you are currently taking prescription medication for your symptoms and are interested in building more health and perhaps getting off your medication by addressing the cause of your health concern, working with a Holistic Chiropractor is the Best way to do this.  Please call the office and let us discuss your options.  I will work with your medical doctor to restore your health and reduce or eliminate the need for medication.

If You Are Asked To Take Medication

Ask ALL of These Questions BEFORE Agreeing to Take The Written Prescription

  1. Will this medication cure my problem or simply mask the symptoms?
  2. How does the medication work?
  3. Is there another way than medication to treat my condition?
  4. What will the medication do for me, both good and bad?
  5. What is the most common side-effect?
  6. What other common side-effects do I need to look for?
  7. What is the follow-up treatment to balance the side-effects?
  8. Will it interfere with the other medications I am currently taking?
  9. Will it affect my ability to concentrate, do my job, eat, sleep, or conduct relations with my spouse?
  10. Do I need to take it with food?
  11. Will it cause me to gain weight?
  12. What happens if I miss a dose?
  13. How long will I be on it?
  14. Are there any problems with stopping the medication once I start it if it doesn’t make me feel good?
  15. If the medication doesn’t work, what is the next course of action?

Medicines Two Choices for You

Your Solution

Be sure to have all of these and any other questions answered before beginning your medication.  Sometimes once you start, you are required to stay on it and live with the side-effects.  Something to strongly consider.

If you would like to try a different form of care and get a different result, consider making an appointment with your Holistic Chiropractor.
