In this video, Dr. Huntoon answers the question, "Is having symptoms ever normal?"
The answer is NO. Appreciate that you need to lose greater than 60 % of normal functioning in order to have a symptom. Is that acceptable to you? My hope is you are saying no, which is why you are here.
Knowing what is causing your symptoms and knowing how to address the CAUSE is what we will accomplish on your first visit.
I hope you are looking forward to your first visit and know that Dr. Huntoon will do everything he can to make your visit both productive and positive. Know that when you leave the office, you will know what your problem is, what is causing it and that you are in the right office.
We look forward to meeting you.
Many people today are disenchanted with our healthcare system designed to generate money for the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies and leave the patient suffering from their concern after lots of testing and procedures and no real solution other than a new prescription. People are also upset by the amount of time they need to wait to be seen, either at an appointment or simply getting an appointment, because of the overbooking and the herding of people through the doctor's office. And when they do finally get seen, it is for 5 minutes or less with lots of questions from the doctor and no real answers for the patient. Many times people are left feeling angry due to being treated like a number or someone who is unimportant.
Here at Advanced Alternative Medicine Center, Dr. Huntoon will never overbook your time and all patients are seen at their scheduled appointment time or within 5 minutes of their scheduled appointment time.
If this is important for you and you are ready to find answers to your health concerns, instead of "popping" another pill or scheduling some other appointments with the next "specialist" to help you on the "treatment treadmill?" Then call Advanced Alternative Medicine Center and schedule your Initial Consultation and Examination.
Upon entering our office Dr. Huntoon (aka Doc Rick) will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you fill out our New Patient Forms, located in the New Patient Center portion of the website. We have made these available for downloading for your added convenience. Please fill these out completely before coming to the office. The paperwork provides us with specific information about yourself and your unique health condition.
Next you will have a consultation with Dr. Huntoon to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as your overall health history. It will be the most comprehensive consultation you have ever had about your health and your health history. Your first visit is designed for you to learn about our unique form of healthcare, along with the different techniques used within the office. It is also a time for Dr. Huntoon to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether our form of Chiropractic and Alternative to Medicine Care meets your goals. Lastly, it is designed to see if you are comfortable with using our alternative methods to get well. This relationship will be a true partnership, not just some place you simply come to get treatment. You will be active in helping yourself get well. It is important for you to ask all your questions. There are no "stupid" questions when it comes to you understanding your health concerns. Dr. Huntoon is happy to go as slow as you need to in order for both of you to better understand your specific condition, your concerns and what it will take to restore your health.
After your consultation, Dr. Huntoon will perform a complete chiropractic and alternative healthcare examination, testing your body reflex points, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations, that your specific condition warrants. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent. The total time involved for the Consultation and Examination is one and a half hours. Being thorough is important when considering all your options and understanding the cause of your health concerns. We hope this is important to you.
Your specific condition may require us to send you next door to Orange Radiology (or the facility of your choosing) for x-rays to get a full evaluation of your spine or other area of complaint. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves. Dr. Huntoon is always happy to go over your x-rays with you, even if they are taken by another facility or practitioner. If you have previous x-rays or other radiographic studies (MRI, CT, PET), please bring them with you for your first visit.
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, Dr. Huntoon will give you a report of findings to answer the four most popular questions:
After discussing with you your history and your goals, examining your spine and other relevant areas of your body, and then reviewing any x-rays or tests, Dr. Huntoon will discuss his recommendations and considerations with you related to your specific condition. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, Dr. Huntoon will tell you, and make the appropriate referral. If Dr. Huntoon believes he can help you, he will recommend specific treatment for your condition as well as discuss what is involved in a wellness program.
Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment on their second appointment. This is to allow for proper review of the information obtained in the Consultation and Examination so the best treatment can be given for your specific condition. "Special" cases may require treatment on a first visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. This is under the discretion of Dr. Huntoon. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with. All treatment is given with the highest certainty for the best outcome possible. Your increased wellness is Dr. Huntoon's primary goal.
While a Practice Member with the office, members will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, Dr. Huntoon will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking whole food supplements, and keeping your weight under control along with stress relief. By developing new habits and behaviors suited to improve your overall well being, both you and Dr. Huntoon can create the type of health you desire and make it something you achieve and live.
