The Medical Perspective

Is it an age thing?  Do we blindly accept our doctor’s explanation for our lack of energy when they say, “It is because you are getting old and you should expect your energy to begin to get less as you get older.  It’s a normal part of aging”

Does that really make any sense?  Does it make sense that as we get older it is “normal” to have less energy?

I say “poppy-cock!”  It may be very common, but it is anything other than “normal” to develop an energy crisis as we age.

Let me explain what happens in our society and why it seems like we all develop it as we age.  And when I am done, I will offer you a solution for your newest health concern, “Lack of Energy.”

In our clinic, many people come to the office with a vague diagnosis of

  • “Fatigue,”
  • “Poor Energy,”
  • “Afternoon Tiredness,” or an
  • “Inability to Focus.”

And yet, all of their lab tests are “normal” and many times they are either sent to the Psychiatrist/Psychologist/Therapist to discuss what they are unhappy with or what is stressing them out.  And more times than not, they will be given some level of medication to “un-plug” themselves form how they feel and give them a false sense of self.

In other words, “As long as I take this medication, I will no longer feel tired, OR I just won’t notice I feel tired.”  This doesn’t solve the problem.
